Install Pithos on Joli OS

Pithos is a great alternative to the web browser app for Pandora. Installing on Joli 1.2 isn't too difficult.

First you need to add the Pithos repo to your source list. Enter terminal with ALT-F1 and enter the following commands.

Edit your ubuntu source list.

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.list

Paste the following to the end of the file.

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kevin-mehall/pithos-daily/ubuntu lucid main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/kevin-mehall/pithos-daily/ubuntu lucid main

Now update apt with

sudo apt-get update

Install Pithos

sudo apt-get install pithos

Now simply navigate to the dashboard, page 2, local apps and "add a local app". Select Pithos and you're good to go!

  1. I'm running Joli os 1.2 and can't seem to add any local apps. Any ideas? I can run Pithos from the Run Application command but can't get a new app for it.

On the front page when you go to "Add New App' you have to enter a URL for it.
